Walmart's 90-day return policy is one of the most generous in retail, but not everything can be brought back for a refund. Here are the items Walmart won't accept as returns, according to Expert Beacon, so you'll want to be extra sure before you buy.

All prescription medications are final sale at Walmart. Once dispensed by the pharmacy, medications cannot be returned under any circumstances due to contamination risks and federal regulations. This includes antibiotics, heart medications, pain relievers and controlled substances. Always consult your prescribing doctor or pharmacist if you have concerns about a prescribed drug.

Once you've cracked open the seal on a video game, DVD or CD, it's yours to keep. Walmart cannot verify that the disc hasn't been copied or used, so all opened media is non-returnable. Make sure you're buying the right title before opening the package.

If the box is opened or any seals are removed on electronics like this television, laptops, tablets or headphones, they're no longer eligible for return — even if you never powered them on. Walmart cannot resell opened electronics as new, so be absolutely certain before breaking those security seals.

Pepper spray, mace, guns and stun guns are final sale items. Walmart cannot verify whether these self-defense products have been used or tampered with, making them ineligible for return under any circumstances.

Gift cards cannot be returned or refunded at Walmart. This includes Walmart gift cards, Visa prepaid cards and Mastercard prepaid cards. Once purchased, the funds are activated and cannot be reversed.
