Methodology: For this study, MoneyLion analyzed cities in Florida with a population of at least 60,000 to find the average cost for utilities in each city. Using the U.S. Census 2024 1-year ACS, cities in Florida with at least 60,000 people were identified. The utility cost of living indices were sourced from Sperling's BestPlaces and using the national average expenditure costs for all households, as sourced from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey, the average cost of living was calculated for each city. Mortgage data came from the Zillow Home Value Index for November 2025 and the Federal Reserve Economic Data (using a 10% down payment). The total cost of living was calculated for each city. The utility index, monthly average cost for utilities and annual average cost for utilities were calculated and included for each city. The cities were sorted to show the highest average cost of utilities first. All data is up to date as of Dec. 24, 2025.
