As consumers are increasingly priced out of the new car market, many are turning to “nearly-new” models as a cost-effective alternative. A recent CarGurus report found that sales of used vehicles that are two years old or younger jumped nearly 24% year over year in the first quarter of 2026.
The median price of a 1-year-old or younger model was $32,500, while the median price of a 2-year-old model was $29,900. And the most popular nearly-new models have been selling for even less.
