You don't need to spend a fortune to get your home organized.

Two professional organizers — Amy Bergman, chief organizing officer at Amyzing Spaces, and Barb Mickits, founder of Edit & Organize — broke down exactly how they'd spend $30 at Dollar Tree.

Bergman called these utility caddies her favorite Dollar Tree find. Available in multiple colors, they work in bathrooms for skincare and hair accessories, in kitchens for utensils or cleaning supplies and in playrooms for craft supplies. Most have handles, so they move easily from room to room. "They do an excellent job of corralling small items that might otherwise create clutter," she said.

Mickits pointed to the space under the bed as one of the most underused storage areas in any home. Clear under-bed bins are ideal for out-of-season clothing, extra bedding or anything you don't need daily. Because they're clear, shoppers can see what's inside without pulling everything out.

Bergman considered these drawer organizers one of the best values in the store. They come in multiple sizes and can turn a chaotic junk drawer into a functional space where everything has a home — she uses them in kitchen, bathroom and office drawers. Her tip: Look for square shapes rather than slanted ones to make the most of available space. And grab glue dots from the craft aisle to stick on the bottom so the dividers don't shift around.

These work throughout the home, but Mickits said these stackable container baskets really shine in kids' spaces. "Because they're open, kids can easily see what's inside and are more likely to put things away independently," she said. Stack them in a playroom, a closet or anywhere toys and small items tend to pile up.

Mickits kept these plastic storage bins throughout her own home. They work in a linen closet, in the pantry and under a bathroom sink for cleaning supplies — deep enough to hold a real quantity of items while keeping everything contained.

Bergman is a fan of Dollar Tree's magnetic hook selection across the board. Over-the-door hooks work well in bedrooms, bathrooms and closets. Peel-and-stick versions go almost anywhere in the house. The store also carries hooks designed for the back of car seats — useful for hanging bags and keeping a vehicle tidy.

For families juggling multiple schedules, Bergman recommended the magnetic calendar options specifically. Displayed on the refrigerator, a shared family calendar can track appointments, activities, meal plans and chores. "Keeping everyone on the same page," she said, is one of the simplest forms of household organization.

Both organizers agreed on the underlying principle: The products matter less than the habit of giving everything a designated spot. Once that system is in place, staying organized stops feeling like constant work. (But at least with these picks, you’re on your way!).
