Discover the storefront of a Trader Joe's grocery store in Campbell, California, on a sunny day

Grocery shopping for one is a special kind of frustrating. You buy a whole head of lettuce, use three leaves, and watch the rest slowly die in your fridge while guilt sets in. Sound familiar?

That's when Trader Joe's enters the chat. The portions are made for individual humans, not families of six. The prices won't make you wince. And the shelves are full of things you didn't know you needed until they were already in your cart. No wonder it's been living rent-free on TikTok for years.

If you've ever bought a regular avocado, used half, and watched the other half slowly turn into an orc from "Lord of the Rings" on your counter, this one's for you. Trader Joe's Teeny Tiny Avocados are literally lime-sized Hass avocados, and each one is a perfect single serving. No sad, forgotten halves. No waste. Just pure, creamy avocado goodness every time.

At $4.99 for a bag of six, you're paying roughly $0.83 per avocado, which, given where avocado prices are at most grocery stores right now, is kind of wild. But remember, these are popular and sell out fast, so grab a few bags and let them ripen on the counter at different times so you always have a ready one.

  • Price: $3.99

If you're craving something a little larger than ravioli, try raviolini -- ravioli's larger cousin new to Trader Joe's. It's imported from Italy and packed with creamy burrata, mozzarella, crushed roasted and dried tomatoes, breadcrumbs and basil paste. Tomato powder and spinach make one side of the raviolini red and the other green.

These shrimp noodle rolls are filled with shrimp and mixed vegetables wrapped in dim sum, which will make you want to say, “yum.” They are quick to prepare as you just have to heat a little oil in a pan and cover with a lid so they can steam for a tender texture and a crispy bottom.  Serve them as a snack or a side dish with a stir-fry or as the main course with leafy greens. Pair them with a savory dipping sauce.

Sometimes you want a huge plate of pasta. For others, a light salad will do. Trader Joe's beef, bean and cheese burrito hits the middle. Ideal for one, it's packed with spiced ground beef, chopped onions, pinto beans and shredded white cheddar cheese inside a flour tortilla and can be ready in a few minutes in a microwave. Add tortilla chips and guacamole as a side.

  • Price: $7.49

Sesame crusted hardwood smoked ahi tuna is back in the store after a hiatus. It's a great appetizer for one. It's sustainably sourced Ahi from the Pacific Ocean and off the coast of Micronesia. Thinly sliced and made with white and black sesame seeds, it tastes good over rice or in a salad with Ponzu dipping sauce right out of the package.
