DeMuro recently revealed the nine best cars he’s ever driven on YouTube in descending order, all leading up to his No. 1 pick. His personal preferences played a big role in determining which cars made the cut. Priority was given to mid-engine cars and cars known for their balance, smoothness and emotion, in particular.

Cost may play a lesser role in these nine picks, but because we report from a money-first place we sourced the starting price of these cars and their most recent model year using Kelley Blue Book (KBB). For those vehicles which did not have listed prices, we referred to Edmunds for estimates.

9. B5 Audi RS 4 Avant
DeMuro said he owned an Audi RS 2, the generation of car which came before the RS 4, but did not love driving it (even though he enjoyed its appearance). His biggest RS 2 complaints included its creaky interior with lots of cheap plastic and bad turbo lag.
Luckily, these issues were resolved when the next generation car, the B5 RS 4 Avant, made its debut. DeMuro said he loved its V6 turbo engine, how the car rotated and the great steering responsiveness.
“It’s not all that fast and it’s not the best precise handling car of all time, but it’s a really predictable, fun, nice driving car with the right amount of power, engine smoothness and steering precision,” he said.

8. Lamborghini Countach
There’s a lot to love about the Lamborghini Countach, including the vehicle’s purr and its ability to deliver on an unparalleled vintage driving experience.
For as joyous the experience of driving a Countach is, these used cars are very expensive. Some models are even listed for well past $1 million. The estimated price for a used 2021 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is $1,799,800, according to KBB, while the typical range for these runs from $595,000 to $788,900, depending on the release and features.
7. Pagani Zonda
We could not find a price for the Pagani Zonda listed on KBB, so we refer to the Pagani Zonda Revolucion, which is said by Edmunds to cost $2.8 million.
DeMuro said that as an enthusiast car, the Zonda has an excellent transmission, great shifter clutch and solid balance to keep from being overwrought.
“When it was being developed, the focus was on making the Zonda a good sports car and that’s what I felt when I drove it,” he said.
6. Honda S2000
This inexpensive car is also known for being teeny tiny with DeMuro comparing it to “driving a thimble.” But that’s a good thing! The Honda S2000’s compact nature keeps it predictable and easy to control while driving on the road.
Though not particularly fast, the Honda S2000 makes up for this shortcoming by being balanced enough for ringing and revving it out thanks to its excellent shifter clutch.
“When you combine a great shifter clutch with a great driving experience, you’ve got something magic,” he said. “Not only do you want to drive the car because of its dynamics, but you want to shift gears because you love doing it so much.”
A used 2000 Honda S2000 will run you about $25,000: a low price you would welcome for your daily driver after spending seven figures on that Pagani.
5. FD Mazda RX7
The FD Mazda RX7 does everything the Mazda Miata does but better and faster. The only thing drivers lose from the Miata is its open roof. The feel, precision and fun of the car are all still there.
But it’s not easy to find the FD for sale. DeMuro said it was only sold for three model years in the United States. According to Edmunds, the average price for a 1993 Mazda RX-7 is $74,900.
4. McLaren P1 GTR
The McLaren P1 GTR is the only automatic transmission car on the list. Everything about this vehicle receives high praise from DeMuro for delivering “all of it,” including its precise and tight steering, visceral sound and powerful acceleration.
“It is the closest you can get to your own personal rollercoaster,” said DeMuro, adding he would buy one if he ever became crazy rich. How rich? A used 2014 McLaren P1 will cost you $2,600,080, but maybe you can convince them to knock that $80 off.
3. 992 Porsche 911 ST
DeMuro loves everything about the 992 Porsche 911 ST, from its clutch to its balance and the vehicle’s “right level of aggressiveness” from a pure driving perspective.
The cost of a certified 2024 Porsche 911 is estimated to cost anywhere between $649,900 to $699,992, as per used listings on Edmunds.
2. Porsche Carrera GT
DeMuro calls the Porsche Carrera GT one of the all-time greatest driving cars ever. This mid-engine car is one he described as a precision instrument, thanks to the surgical precision with which one can drive it.
A used 2024 Porsche Carrera GT, according to Edmunds, can cost as much as $669,000.
1. Ferrari F50
The best car DeMuro has ever driven is the Ferrari F50, which drives better and more nimbly than its appearance lets on.
“If I could swap my Carrera GT for an F50, I would do it,” he said. “Dollar for dollar, they are not the same price, but if they were I would do it in a heartbeat.”
KBB and Edmunds did not provide starting prices for the Ferrari F50, so we referred to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale to find out how much the Ferrari F50 is valued today. The typical market range is anywhere between $5,800,000 to $9,100,000.
