They say health is wealth, and that makes sense, right? Your body and your mind, are investments, and the more you pay attention to what you’re putting into them, the more control you have of what you get out. Now, when it comes to alcohol. Alcohol is woven into the very social fabric of society, and we normalize it as part of our routine in living. But we need to be aware that there is no safe level of alcohol, and alcohol will affect our brain every time we drink, and the effects are cumulative throughout your life. So today I want to give you a little hack because if you do drink alcohol, here’s the best way to protect yourself. Drinking green tea or matcha has a few benefits. It is going to counter the effects of alcohol. One, it reduces liver inflammation, which we know alcohol is notorious for. Two, it decreases neuro or brain inflammation which is another thing that alcohol is notorious for. Tea can actually help protect the brain. It also reduces gut inflammation and increases the absorption of nutrients, which alcohol can disrupt. It protects your heart and your blood vessels, which alcohol puts a strain on. It protects your DNA. Very important because this can lead to cancer down the road. The mechanism of how alcohol causes cancer is through oxidative stress, leading to DNA damage. Matcha also protects the oral mucosa, which can possibly protect us from cancers of the oral cavity as well. So to find out how to buy green tea or matcha, go check out my Instagram page.
