Island Shenanigans: Daring, Winning and Losing Everything

60 contestants started the episode, but only 9 were brave ā€” or recklessā€” enough to say yes to competing for the deed to MrBeastā€™s $1.8 million island.

Among the “no thanks” crew were Jeremy (991) and Karim (406), who chose to sit out the challenge to keep their spots secure. Along with 49 other contestants, they were whisked away to a resort-style island for some downtime while nine brave players battled it out for MrBeastā€™s private island. On the sidelines, Jeremy lounged in a hammock, thinking that he now had a target on his back. Karim, on the other hand, seemed suspiciously at ease – relaxed even. Could he have a strategy brewing?

Hide and Seek WITH FREAKING Navy SEALs

Playing hide-and-seek as a kid? Fun. But playing with Navy SEALs on your tail and your spot in Beast Games on the line is another can of worms.

Here’s how it went down:

Winners (a.k.a. The Survivors):

  • Mia (952) dared to hide in the middle of the danger zone, banking on the SEALs, assuming no one would be that bold… and it worked.
  • Brennan (711): While others ran, Brennan settled into a cave like it was his Airbnb. Strategic? Definitely.
  • Harrison (441) whispered, “Please don’t find me” three times from under a pile of sticks and leaves ā€” a strategy powered by hope.
  • Esteban (547) took to the trees ā€” part genius, part daredevil, and fully committed to staying hidden.
  • Rachel (629): Buried herself deep in the brush, staying perfectly still as the SEALs passed by.
  • David (319): Squeezed into a hollow tree trunk, enduring discomfort to stay in the game.
  • Sophia (774): Used mud and leaves to blend into the terrain, making herself nearly invisible (do we have any millennial readers who remember The Predator?)
  • Jordan (846): Chose a secluded cave near the shoreline, a smart move that kept him out of sight.

Loser (a.k.a. Eliminated):

  • Kelly (797) had a flawless plan ruined by one clumsy drop. As she hid in the tall grass, she fumbled her phone, and the SEALs didn’t miss a beat. Her flag-burning ceremony said it all.

With Kelly gone, eight contestants advanced, but the tension was just getting started.

Too Far Yet Too Close: a Coconut Game of Inches

It was supposed to be a simple game of precision: toss a coconut as far as you can into a sandy rectangle. Just keep it in the rectangle, and donā€™t be the farthest from the endzone.

But chaos had other plans.

Laric (895) looked like a pro (are their pro coconut tossers?) and nailed a nearly perfect throw. Mia (952) kept it cool, landing her coconut safely within bounds, while Esteban (457) delivered a solid, no-nonsense throw to move on. Brennan (711) played it smart, strategically placing his coconut just right.

On the flip side, Timothy (672) could only watch his coconut roll out of bounds and all the way to the beach – instant elimination. Jamal (514) had a rough go too, with his throw falling short and ending his run.

With two eliminations, only six players were left standing ā€” glory within reach.

The Vote ā€“ Betrayal on a Silver Platter

With six players left, MrBeast dialed up the drama by bringing back the eliminated contestants to cast votes for who should be the next to go.

Laric (895) had a solid case for sticking aroundā€”his physical prowess and sharp gameplay. But in Beast Games, strength isn’t always an asset. He was branded the biggest threat by the returning contestants, who were clearly unimpressed by his dominance. With 17 votes against him, Laric went from hero to zero faster than his coconut rolled out of bounds in the last game. His closing wordsā€”“My wife’s gonna kill me because I didn’t come home with anything”ā€”landed somewhere between comedy and tragedy. Yikes.

Harrison (441) barely scraped by with 10 votes, a clear signal that his alliances were fraying. His habit of lurking in the shadows might’ve saved him in Hide and Seek, but it didn’t do much to win over the jury.

Brennan (711), known for his calm confidence, was a prime target, too. Whispers about his strength floated across the boat, but he managed to survive, proving once again that a smile and good vibes can go a long way.

Then there was Mia (952)ā€”a ghost in this round. No votes, no drama. Her low-key, high-impact style of gameplay kept her under the radar. While others sweated, Mia played it cool.

While contestants made their cases to stay, Patrick (930) stirred things up by revisiting past drama. He pointed to Karim (406) and Hazim (527) for their aggressive Episode 3 tactics, tricking contestant #225 into eliminating herself. ā€œHeā€™s definitely a threat,ā€ Patrick said, ensuring Karimā€™s reputation remained under scrutiny as the game progressed.Ā

By the end of the round, the surviving five were clearly shaken, but Misha stood out as the player everyone should have been watching ā€” receiving the least amount of votes. Laric, on the other hand, saw his towering reputation crumble, taken down by the unforgiving power of social strategy. The takeaway? In Beast Games, strength gets you noticed, and being noticed often gets you voted out.

The Boxes of Doom and Lil Yachty’s Lever of Fate

Five boxes. Four checks. One X that spelled elimination. As captain, Harrison (441) had the power to assign the X and couldn’t resist the chance to stir the pot. “I’m here to manipulate people out of the game,” he said. Do we have a villain?

Esteban (457) went first, trusting Harrison enough to pick Box 1 ā€” safe. Mia (952) ignored Harrison’s advice, chose Box 5, and secured her spot with her usual quiet determination.

Harrison, naturally, assigned himself Box 4, that one certainly didnā€™t have the X in it.

The unlucky contestant? Misha (413), who picked Box 2 ā€” the one with the X.

Enter Lil Yachty(!!!), dramatically pulling the lever that ended Misha’s journey. Harrison’s smirk said it all. It looks like trust isn’t a virtue in Beast Games; it’s a trap… or is it?

The Pirate Ship ā€“ Gold or Glory? šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø

Of course, there is an actual pirate ship…

Onboard, the remaining hopefuls faced a decision that could change their lives: take $450,000 in gold and bow out, or keep fighting for the $1.8 million island + the grand prize.

It wasn’t just a choice so much as a test of priorities.

Esteban (457) had the first shot and didn’t think twice. “This is life-changing money,” he said, grabbing the gold and waving goodbye to the competition.

Brennan (711) tried to talk him out of it, even suggesting a coin flip to decide, but Esteban wasn’t about to risk that much cash.

With Esteban gone, the competition was down to Mia (952), Brennan (711), and Harrison (441).

The stakes? Higher than ever.

Arrrgh (sorry).

Tile Warfare: Progress Turns Personal

Three contestants, 15 tiles, and one simple rule: don’t pick the same number as someone else, or you both stay put. Mia (952) played it smart, advancing steadily, while Brennan (711) and Harrison (441) repeatedly blocked each other in a frustrating stalemate.

Mia’s strategy paid off, and she crossed the finish line first, earning immunity and the power to choose her opponent. She picked Brennan without hesitation, sending Harrison home despite his heartfelt plea about this being his “healing journey.” Mia knows a manipulator when she sees one.

The Deed ā€“ All or Nothing šŸļø

Two contestants. Two briefcases. One $1.8 million island. Mia (952) and Brennan (711) faced the ultimate test: hide the deed, shuffle the cases, and hope their pick held the prize.

The stakes? The winner takes the island, loser walks away with nothing.

Mia stayed calm and confident, ready to reclaim her life. Brennan, trusting as ever, hoped she’d play fair. With little to go on, both locked in their choices, leaving the rest to chance.

As they opened their briefcases, the episode ended on a cliffhanger. One will claim the island; the other will leave empty-handed. Who will win? Next week, we find out.

Key Financial Takeaway: Cash vs. Risk

Episode 5 wasnā€™t just about winning an islandā€”it was about making life-changing financial decisions. Esteban (457) chose guaranteed security, taking $450,000 in gold and walking away from the competition. Meanwhile, Mia (952) and Brennan (711) gambled everything for the chance at a $1.8 million private island.

The lesson? Sometimes, the smartest financial move is knowing when to take the sure thing ā€” and when to go all in. Beast Games is more than a competition; itā€™s a high-stakes masterclass in risk versus reward.
