MoneyLion Community Guidelines
Updated as of June 2023
Overview
MoneyLion strives to engage, entertain, educate and empower our users by delivering curated content that encourages them to explore ideas and insights about their financial lives. We value open dialogue, diverse perspectives and meaningful discussions.
To foster positive and respectful interactions between users, we have established these Community Guidelines. These guidelines outline what type of content is and is not permitted on the MoneyLion platform, including, but not limited to, the Discover content feed, the MoneyLion Messages feature and MoneyLion’s Customer Care channels.
These Community Guidelines apply to all types of user-generated content on the MoneyLion platform, including comments and shares. These Community Guidelines may be updated by us from time to time and should be read in connection with MoneyLion’s Terms of Service, including the terms and conditions in the section titled “User Content”.
We enforce these Community Guidelines using a combination of human reviewers, user reports and automated tools. We seek to apply these Community Guidelines fairly and consistently. We reserve the right to take any action that we deem necessary in response to violations. This may include issuing warnings, removing the content without notice, revoking access to certain features on the MoneyLion platform, and suspending or permanently banning a user account in the event of any repeat or severe offenders. Our decisions in enforcing these Community Guidelines are final and not subject to appeal.
It is your responsibility to understand and abide by these Community Guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact MoneyLion’s Customer Care team at [email protected].
1. Relevant and Informative Content
- Engage in constructive discussions that foster meaningful and genuine interactions. This means you must be respectful of other users, avoid personal attacks and focus on the topic at hand. This also means you should provide thoughtful, relevant and on-topic comments that contribute to the conversation.
- Provide accurate and reliable information. This means you should only share information that you believe to be true and accurate. Do not provide false, misleading or unsubstantiated information. This includes any content that contains or depicts any statements that do not reflect your honest views, experiences and beliefs, or that are designed to deceive or trick other users.
- Exercise caution and appropriate restraint when speculating or drawing conclusions. This means that you should be careful about making claims that you cannot support with evidence. You should also avoid making assumptions or jumping to conclusions.
- Avoid:
- Spamming and trolling. This includes posting the same content repeatedly, sending unsolicited messages or making inflammatory or offensive statements.
- Posting irrelevant, nonsensical, repetitive or self-promotional content. This includes content that is off-topic, does not make sense or is a way to promote yourself or your business or artificially collect likes, followers or shares.
- Any statements that could be deemed to be giving specific advice on product usage or stock or other investment transactions. This includes statements that could be viewed as encouraging or influencing user action with respect to stock or other investment transactions.
2. Respectful and Inclusive Discussions
- Treat others with respect and courtesy, and be mindful of your language. Engage in discussions that encourage a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all users.
- Do not post or promote any content that is illegal, unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, indecent, lewd, vulgar, violent, threatening, offensive, bigoted, abusive, inflammatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, fraudulent, deceptive or otherwise objectionable.
- Avoid using profanity or any content that may be considered inappropriate. Keep the discussions civil and family-friendly.
- Do not engage in personal attacks, hate speech, harassment or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other status or protected characteristic.
3. Disclosure and Transparency
- If you are promoting products, services, offers or affiliate links, be transparent about your affiliations, partnerships or sponsorships. Clearly and conspicuously disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Do not impersonate or imply that you are any other person or entity, including a representative of MoneyLion, unless you are expressly authorized to do so.
- Providing user-generated financial advice is strictly prohibited on the MoneyLion platform. If you are providing content that could be construed or interpreted as professional advice, use proper disclosures to ensure that the information presented is for educational purposes only.
4. Privacy and Security
- Respect the privacy and security of others. Do not share personal, private, sensitive or confidential information of any other person in any content, including, but not limited to, passwords, addresses, birthdates, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security or other identification numbers or credit card numbers.
- Do not post or promote any content that may infringe, violate or misappropriate any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other intellectual or other right of any party.
- Do not engage in activities that may compromise the security or integrity of the MoneyLion platform or its users. This includes all acts that could be considered malicious, including but not limited to phishing or hacking attempts or posting content that transmits viruses, malware or any other items of a destructive nature.
5. Your Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and respectful community by setting a good example through your own behavior and engagement with users.
- If you come across content or comments that you believe violate these Community Guidelines, including any spam, troll or bot accounts, please report them using the available reporting tools or, if applicable, remove them. Flagging inappropriate content helps maintain a safe and valuable experience for all users.
- Be mindful of your obligations to comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations and industry guidelines. This includes Federal Trade Commission guidelines.
- Be the first to correct mistakes in your content, but do not alter previous content without indicating that you have done so.
