4 New Sedans That Deliver Big Value for Under $25K

Buying a sedan comes with plenty of benefits, whether it's your first car or you’re a seasoned driver ready to upgrade to a new vehicle. Some of the biggest perks include excellent gas mileage, overall practicality and safety, plenty of cargo room and comfort while driving, and affordability.
Low cost is especially key since sedans are cheaper to buy than most SUVs, and don’t require as much ongoing maintenance as sports cars do. For this piece, we established a budget of $25,000 and sourced the price of each sedan from Kelley Blue Book (KBB). As it turns out, this is more than enough money to buy any of the following four new sedans.

Ranked from least to most expensive, here are the most affordable sedans you can shop for this year.
2025 Nissan Versa
Starting price: $18,530
At less than $20,000, the 2025 Nissan Versa is the most affordable sedan money can buy.
The Versa doesn’t skimp out on features or comfort, either. This all-wheel drive vehicle seats up to five and comes equipped with lots of safety tech like LED headlights. The biggest downside is acceleration, which has been pegged as weak in some reviews. Still, this ding hasn’t stopped it from receiving first place honors on KBB’s list of the best subcompact cars.
2026 Kia K4
Starting price: $23,535
Is this really a sedan? Yep! The 2026 Kia K4 has received universal praise for its cool styling, an element worth considering if you’re shopping for an impressive looking sedan that won’t break the bank.
Other K4 highlights include exceptional fuel efficiency, an array of tech features, a back seat roomy enough for kids and adults alike and the sedan’s reasonable pricing. The only major con is it may not be as fun as other vehicles, but it’s reliable and the price is right.
2026 Hyundai Elantra
Starting price: $23,870
For a few hundred dollars more than the K4, you can purchase the 2026 Hyundai Elantra.
This compact sedan may get points deducted for lacking excellent fuel economy (KBB recommended shopping the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid if this is a top-of-mind concern), but it does have overall solid value for drivers. It’s roomy and comfortable to drive, comes loaded with tech features and offers a great warranty.
2026 Toyota Corolla
Starting price: $24,320
You can shop for the 2026 Toyota Corolla as a compact sedan or hatchback. The Corolla may be the most expensive sedan mentioned in this roundup, but it’s not without major perks.
While most of the sedans we mentioned are front-wheel drive, the Corolla is available in all-wheel and front-wheel drive. Its compact design makes it ideal for parking or living in urban settings, and it’s a reliable ride. However, be forewarned that the cargo space is a little tight compared to the other sedans on this list.
