Avocados
A six-count bag of avocados costs $9.07 at Costco compared to the $4.87 pricing for five avocados at Sam’s Club.
And though we suspect avocados cost more at Costco since they’re of the Hass variety, it’s still better for budgets to keep these costs closer to $5 than $10 in total spending.
Sweet Corn
You can find an eight-count bundle of sweet corn at both clubs, but shoppers save nearly $3 at Sam’s. Its sweet corn costs $4.97 compared to spending $7.93 at Costco.
Tomatoes on the Vine
Sunset tomatoes on the vine at Sam's Club might only have 3 pounds to Costco’s 4-pound offering, but it’s also $4.97. You’d pay $8.50 at Costco and that extra $3.53 seems like a lot more to spend on one more pound of tomatoes.
English Cucumbers
Sam’s Club is where it’s at for best deal on English cucumbers.
Members can snag a trio of cucumbers for $3.27, or around $1.09 apiece. A three-count batch of English cucumbers at Costco will set you back $7.71. That’s $4.44 more than Sam’s, plus it means you’re paying $2.57 per cucumber.
Blackberries
An 18-ounce container of blackberries costs almost $5 more to buy at Costco than at Sam’s Club. Driscoll’s blackberries typically cost $3.97 to Costco’s $8.50 per package.
Carrots
You can save nearly $2 buying organic carrots at Sam’s Club. A 5-pound bag costs $4.57 compared to Costco’s 6-pound sizing for $6.23.
