Amazon Fuel Up Fridays Returns: How Prime Members Can Save Big at the Gas Pump

If you've been driving past the gas station on fumes and wincing at the price per gallon, Amazon just gave Prime members a very good reason to stop and fill up on Fridays.
Just in time for the holiday season, Fuel Up Fridays is back, and the savings this year are double what members get year-round. Here's everything you need to know.
Quick Take: What Exactly Is Amazon Fuel Up Fridays?
According to Amazon's official announcement, Fuel Up Fridays returned Oct. 2, through Jan. 29, 2027, and gives Prime members $0.20 off per gallon on one fuel purchase every Friday at participating locations.
That's double the everyday Prime fuel discount of $0.10 per gallon that members already enjoy year-round at more than 7,500 bp, Amoco and participating ampm and Thorntons locations across the U.S.
How To Activate Your Savings
Savings in this economy, especially on gas, can go a long way toward making ends meet. Fortunately, setting up the discount is a one-time process and takes about two minutes, according to Amazon. Just follow these steps:
Visit amazon.com/fuelsavings to activate the offer.
Connect your Amazon account to a free Earnify account with BP (this only needs to be done once).
Find your nearest participating station using the free Earnify app store locator.
Redeem at the pump by entering your phone number or linked payment method (or you can use the Earnify app to select your location and pump directly).
That's all it entails, and once activated, the discount applies automatically every time you fuel up at a qualifying location. To put the full-year savings in perspective, the year-round $0.10 per gallon discount alone saves the average Prime member nearly $70 per year, which is almost half the cost of an annual Prime membership.
Fuel Up Fridays stack on top of that baseline, pushing total fuel savings even higher through the end of January, and the proof is in the returns.
The Family Hack That Can Stack Your Savings
If you share a household with another Prime member, get ready to watch the savings pile up, as two adults in the same household can share a Prime membership at no additional cost through Amazon Family, and each member can make a separate fuel transaction. That means your household can effectively double Fuel Up Friday savings by making two separate fill-ups on the same Friday.
Keep in mind that the only catch is that both household members need separate Earnify accounts, and each must complete their own fuel transaction. For a household with two drivers filling up every Friday for the next few months, that's 17 weeks of double discounts, plus a meaningful chunk of change over the holiday driving season.
Why This Matters More Right Now
Gas prices fluctuate, but the holiday season consistently brings higher demand and higher prices just for the road trips, airport runs and family gatherings alone. Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime, said, "Sometimes a car ride can't be avoided — whether it's to get to the kids' sports, make a day trip or pick up a loved one at the airport."
That’s why Fuel Up Fridays is designed for exactly those moments. With more than 7,500 participating locations across the country, the odds are strong that a qualifying location is already on your regular route.
Final Take: How To Get Prime
The bottom line is that a Prime membership is $14.99 per month (or $139 a year) and there is a free 30-day trial available for eligible new members. Young adults ages 18 through 24 pay a discounted $7.49 per month ($69 per year) after a free six-month trial, and qualifying government assistance recipients can access Prime Access for $6.99 a month. For anyone driving regularly (or at an accelerated rate this holiday season), the fuel savings alone make the math worth running.
